Anant Chaturdashi is the last day of Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. Lord Ganesha idols are immersed in water (visarjan). The day is also dedicated to Lord Vishnu as Anant (infinite).

According to the Mahabharata, the Pandavas tied the Anant thread and worshipped Vishnu during their exile, and their fortunes improved. The thread (Anant) symbolises the infinite. On this day, Ganesha is bid farewell with grand processions before immersion.
अनन्त चतुर्दशी — पूजाविधिः
- In the morning, perform the final puja to the Ganesha idol.
- Carry the idol in a procession to a water body for visarjan.
- Chant Ganesha mantras and sing aarti; offer modak and flowers.
- Tie the Anant thread (14 knots) and worship Vishnu for prosperity.
- In the evening, distribute prasad and clean the puja area.
